Highlights of the 34th General Meeting and 60th Anniversary Dinner cum the 19th Outstanding Social Workers Award Presentation Ceremony
With the participations of our members and colleagues among different fields, the HKSWA Annual General Meeting and 60th Anniversary Dinner cum the 19th Outstanding Social Workers Award were held under the joyful atmosphere on 22 January.
It was our honor to have Mr. Henry TANG Ying-yen, GBM, GBS, JP, Chief Secretary for Administration, to be our Guest of Honor. He attended our 60th Anniversary dinner cum the 19th Outstanding Social Workers Award Presentation Ceremony and delivered a delightful speech to all of us. Sincere thanks to Mr. TANG for presenting awards to the 4 winners of the Outstanding Social Workers Award.
We would like to recognize a honorable social worker, Mr. Y.F.HUI, for his significant contributions to the field and to the Association during our 60th Anniversary celebration. A trophy was presented to Mr. Y.F.HUI by Mr. Henry TANG. And a speech was delivered by Mr. Y.F.HUI.
After the ceremony, the program of the 60th Anniversary Dinner started as well as the great fund-raising Karaoke as well. Many stars of social welfare attended and sang us songs with their sweet voice during the Dinner. Special Acknowledgment to Dr. Alice YUK, Mrs. CHEUNG ANG Siew Mei, Mr. Barry WONG, Mr. Paul Tang, JP and Dr. CK LAW for their excellent performances. Under the encouragement of guests, Mr. Matthew CHEUNG and Ms. LEUNG Siu Kum sang some very good songs for us for raising fund. Thanks all of them for all their brilliant talents and performances.
Another great fundraising event was the Auction, sincere thanks are extended to our generous donors. They are, Mr. Charles CHAN, Dr. Joyce CHANG, JP, Ms. Christine FANG, Mr, Frederick LAI, Dr. C.K. LAW, Mr. Joseph MAN, Mr. NG Shui Lai, Mr. TANG Wai Hung, Prof. YI Songguo, Dr. Alice YUK and CRABTREE & EVELYN.
Million thanks to all of your support and donation. The donation amount was more than HK$65,000 that is a heartening amount.
Apart from the fundraising event, a great event was the lucky draw. We had received more than 20 gifts this year which donated by Mr. Paul CHAN, Ms. Irene CHENG, Mr. Fredericik LAI, Ms. Teresa LAM, Ms. Selina LO, Mr. Andy NG, Ms. Margaret YIU, Dr. Alice YUK, PCCW and YMCA of Hong Kong. Thank you very much for your donation.
Two smart emcees, Mr. Barry WONG and Mr. Ringo CHAN, made the place filled with funny and relaxed atmosphere. All participants enjoyed and plunged into the whole event. The successful organization of the dinner and ceremony relied totally on your excellent performances, sincere support and donation. HKSWA will endeavor to serve our profession and commit our mission “Unitting our Social Workers . Developing the Profession”.
